Adaption or Extinction
Adaption is when an organism can adapt to its habitat, like where they live and survive. Extinction is when an organism can't adapt or gets killed too much for it to keep reproducing. A finch can adapt pretty well to an environment. In some places, a finch has a really long beak to catch food. In other places, it has a short beak to get its food. If those finches didn't adapt to their environment, then they wouldn't live very long. The Western Black Rhinos went extinct because there just wasn't enough food and couldn't adapt to find other things to eat. There wasn't any hope for them and when the last one died, that was it. They were extinct. A lot of animals are nearing extinction if they don't learn how to adapt to their surroundings.
Nice information! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWay to use the finch example. I liked the hippo one too.;)
